We are in the last throes of summer here. School starts for Maggie & Henry on Thursday, for William on Monday and for Steven on the 28th. I’m excited and a little nervous for Will. It’s going to be very different having him somewhere else! Unfortunately, he only goes from 7:40-10:10 am, which is so incredibly early, but I honestly think he’s going to love it so much. I can’t believe my last little baby is ready for school already. It’s one of those very bittersweet moments that tears your heart in two & makes you utterly proud at the same time. I can still remember Maggie’s first day and how I sobbed like Sobby McWeeperton at the Great Festival of Sobbing & Weeping. The Festival repeated itself at Steven’s first day, as well. On Henry’s first day, the Festival was at its apex – complete with jugglers, strong men, trapeze artists & a huge locust swarm attack. I wonder if it’ll be the same for my final guy or if I’ll just be an old hat who has no more feelings.
We took our annual trip to the county fair on the 5th – mostly for Henry to see his beloved farm animals. Strangely, however, this year he was reluctant to go. Primarily because he had to leave behind his more beloved iPad. Seriously – this kid can barely function without that thing. He’s totally addicted and when the battery dies, you’d think it was the end of the world. I’m concerned to see what will happen when he has to go back to school & leave it at home for 6-7 hours. Sheesh. We did visit his favorite animals – cows (he said hello to all of them and mooed at a few), chickens, roosters, geese & ducks (he talked to all of them, saying “Bye _______, time to go car.” Because he wanted to go to the car to take him back to the iPad. We saw the pigs and he greeted them the same way. And the sheep. The goats he got a little friendlier with, but still told them all “time to go to car”. What a shock it would have been if they were all waiting for him when he got there.
The next day, I took Steven & William to the aquarium with my cousin, Katie, & her daughter, Mckenna. Been a while since I’d been there, but we always have fun there. They had their jellyfish exhibit (still? again??) which I love. I could sit there for hours & hours and just watch them. They’re so peaceful looking & drowsy. I adore them.
I am still working out. Trying for 4 times a week. I’m getting more focused with it – spending a day doing arms & abs, a day doing legs & abs and 2 days doing cardio. I’m slowly increasing time, reps, weight, sets and getting a little stronger all the time.
I’ve also been scrapping a lot. I’m working on a project for my mom (Top Secret!!) but also doing some of my own. Steven got it in his head that I hadn’t done any recent layouts of him, so he sat down with me and we did 3 just on him. It made him very happy.
I’ve done more, but I don’t want to clog this up any more than I already have. If you’re interested, you can see them on my Facebook page.Tweet
