We are all completely exhausted. Between the business, the nervousness, the emotion, and all that, the talent show took it all out of us. But it was so cool. My kids performed beautifully and were so confident, I was SO PROUD. So, here are the videos. First is Steven with his Light Saber performance.
He choreographed that entire thing by himself. I had 100% of NOTHING to do with any of it. All I did was get him the proper lightsaber. Mom-Mom bought him the costume. The director thought of adding music and one of the other teacher’s husband got this Darth Maul music for him. I am BLOWN AWAY by how the people at this school have supported and encouraged him.
See, this is how I’m seeing it. A short 3 years ago, we could not do anything to convince Steven to even get ON a stage and perform in front of people. He wouldn’t sing with 100 other kids if there was an audience. Today he choreographed and performed an entire performance all by himself in a room full of people. THAT is progress. THAT is the hand of God.
Then there’s Maggie. Her talent blows my mind. I’ve been singing for over 25 years and I cannot imagine pulling off what she can go at the age of 11. My first solo was in 6th grade at the age of 12. At eleven, she’s already an old pro, doing songs that *I* would consider doing now, at 40. She’s amazing. Here’s the video.
I was literally in tears at the end of this – so proud of how confident and talented and unafraid my kids are. They are totally the opposite of how I am and I’m so thankful for it.Tweet
